Covenant Health, in partnership with Recovery Alberta and the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta, invites applications for a full-time Adult Psychiatrist based primarily at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.

The successful applicant will join the Grey Nuns Psychiatric Outpatient Program (POP), an established outpatient psychotherapy program providing evidence-based group treatment for adults with a range of psychiatric disorders. Clinical responsibilities will focus on the assessment and treatment of outpatients participating in the program's group therapy services.
The successful applicant will be expected to work collaboratively with colleagues to help shape the program's future direction. This includes contributing to program evaluation, service development, and the implementation of innovative models of outpatient psychiatric care as the program continues to evolve. The ideal candidate will be interested not only in delivering excellent clinical care but also in contributing to the ongoing growth and strategic development of the program.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), or other evidence-based psychotherapeutic modalities.
The successful applicant will participate in the Grey Nuns Psychiatry call schedule.
The successful applicant will participate in the teaching of medical students and psychiatry residents and will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment with the Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta, through the University's standard appointment process. Participation in departmental grand rounds, hospital committees, and other academic or administrative activities is also expected.
Required:
MD or equivalent.
Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Certification in Psychiatry from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC).
Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.
Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the healthcare environment.
Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
