Join Covenant Health as a Clinical Associate! 

  • Covenant Health invites applications for Clinical Associate (Non-MRP Hospitalist) positions based primarily at Grey Nuns Community Hospital and/or Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. 

  • Clinical Associates are fully licensed physicians who provide inpatient medical support within established clinical services. Working in collaboration with attending physicians, Clinical Associates assist in the management of patients’ medical comorbidities and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. 

 

In this role, you will: 

 

  • Manage medical comorbidities of patients within a defined clinical service in consultation with, or under the direction of, the attending physician. 

  • Respond to consultation requests from other clinical services or the Emergency Department as directed by the attending physician. 

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support safe, coordinated patient care. 

 

Coverage Opportunities 

We are currently accepting applications for after-hours care coverage on the following services: 

Grey Nuns Community Hospital 

  • CCU+ (Coronary Care Unit, General Internal Medicine, Geriatrics) 

  • PCHT Family Medicine 

  • Surgical Services 

  • Psychiatry 

Misericordia Community Hospital 

  • ICU/CCU 

  • Medicine In-House (PCHT Family Medicine, Non-Teaching General Internal Medicine, Villa Caritas Geriatric Psychiatry) 

 

Schedule 

 

There is no defined FTE for this role. Successful candidates will be expected to work a minimum number of shifts per year, which will be discussed and confirmed during the interview process.

Qualifications: 

 

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent. 

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. 

  • Demonstrated commitment to quality care, patient safety, and diversity, equity and inclusion 

  • Understanding of Just Culture principles in healthcare. 

 

Preferred:

 

  • Working knowledge of Connect Care (Epic).
