Description:

Alberta Health Services, Department of Medicine, in conjunction with the University of Calgary invites applications for a full-time clinical respirologist with expertise in complex airway inflammation and Point of Care Ultrasound.

40% clinical service in general respirology including ambulatory care, pulmonary function test interpretation, hospital inpatient and consultation (including weekend and weeknight call), bronchoscopy and other procedures.

30% clinical service in complex airway inflammatory conditions that will involve primarily outpatient clinics.

10% clinical service cross appointed to General Internal Medicine in Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) with clinical and educational role in the POCUS program, although amount of time will be flexible depending on clinical need

5% of time will be spent in education in the Division of Respirology and Department of Medicine (Fellowship and Resident Training) and the Cumming School of Medicine (Undergraduate Medical Education). 

10% of time will be spent in quality improvement / assurance and / or research. 

Be an integral part of the Respirology team in Calgary, utilizing strong collaborative skills to support and contribute to the overall clinical, research and education mission of the Section.

Qualifications include:

·         MD, FRCPC (Respiratory Medicine)

·         Minimum 6 months specialized training (fellowship) in the diagnosis and treatment of Complex Inflammatory Airway Diseases.

·         Minimum 6 months specialized training in Point of Care Ultrasound

·         Eligibility for licensure in the province of Alberta

·         Established reputable excellence in clinical care and teaching of medical students and residents

The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
