Job Description:

The Family Physician will provide comprehensive, patient-centred primary care to individuals and families across all age groups. Responsibilities include assessment and diagnosis of acute and chronic medical conditions, development and management of appropriate treatment plans, prescribing medications, ordering and interpreting diagnostic investigations, preventive care and health promotion, and coordinating referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers as required.

The physician will provide continuity of care, chronic disease management, and routine primary care services while maintaining accurate and timely medical records. The physician will work collaboratively with clinic staff and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, accessible, and high-quality patient care.

The successful candidate will practise in accordance with the standards, policies, and ethical requirements of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) and applicable Alberta healthcare requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Have a current eligibility letter from CPSA
  • Must have appropriate postgraduate training and experience in Family Medicine/General Practice and demonstrate the ability to provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages.
  • Must be eligible to obtain the necessary Alberta Health billing/practitioner number and maintain appropriate medical liability protection.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, clinical decision-making, and teamwork skills are required. 
  • Must be committed to providing professional, ethical, patient-centred care and to complying with CPSA standards and all requirements associated with sponsorship and supervised practice, where applicable
