Job Description:
Hys Centre Medical Clinic (Edmonton Zone) is recruiting a full-time General Adult Psychiatrist for an outpatient community-based practice in central Edmonton.
The psychiatrist will provide assessments, consultation, and ongoing follow-up care, working closely with clinic family physicians and allied health team members in an integrated, team-based setting. Responsibilities include diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, medication management and monitoring, risk assessment and safety planning, and coordination with community supports as needed
This is a five-day-per-week outpatient position with no hospital on-call requirements.
Qualifications:
Have a current eligibility letter from CPSA
Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with completed postgraduate specialist training in Psychiatry
Currently licensed and in good standing to practise Psychiatry in another jurisdiction
Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) through an approved sponsorship pathway (e.g., supervised practice, provisional registration, Practice Readiness Assessment, or other CPSA-approved route)
Willing and able to meet all CPSA requirements for sponsored practice, including supervision, reporting, examinations, or additional assessments as required
Demonstrated experience in general adult outpatient psychiatry, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, risk assessment, and medication management
Ability to manage complex psychiatric comorbidity and coordinate care with community/addictions resources when needed
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach within a primary care setting
Experience working with diverse patient populations and delivering culturally safe care
