Description:

You will provide psychiatric consultation and support services to patients at the East Calgary Family Care Clinic located in Forest Lawn at the East Calgary Health Centre. This includes working collaboratively within a highly functional Patient-Centered Medical Home to support comprehensive, team-based care for a complex and diverse patient population. Key responsibilities include diagnostic clarification for adult and pediatric patients, participation in interdisciplinary case rounds and team-based care planning, medication reviews, and consultation to primary care providers and allied health team members.

This is a permanent 0.2 FTE position at the East Calgary Family Care Clinic. The psychiatrist will work closely with family physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health therapists, social workers, a pharmacist, a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist, dietitians, and nursing staff to provide integrated care for patients with complex medical, mental health, and social needs.

The clinic operates as a group practice and uses the Connect Care EMR, which includes access to mobility applications, Dragon Medical One dictation software, and the Jenkins AI Scribe. The clinic serves a complex, high-needs patient population in an area of the city that has been identified as having access and continuity demands greater than other areas in Calgary.

Hours for this position are flexible and will be arranged in collaboration with the successful candidate and clinic leadership. The role is primarily consultative and focused on supporting both direct patient care and capacity-building within the primary care team. Particular interest will be given to candidates with experience in both adult and pediatric psychiatry, collaborative care models, medication optimization and deprescribing, and capacity assessments.
