Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Department Hospital Lead (CCDHL), Emergency - Leduc Community Hospital (LCH).
This 0.15 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Emergency and the Hospital Medical Director (HMD), LCH. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The CCDHL, Emergency – LCH is a key medical leadership role responsible for ensuring the delivery of high‑quality emergency clinical care, supporting physician and team development, and promoting efficient, fiscally responsible service delivery. The position provides essential administrative oversight, including ensuring adequate and qualified staffing, managing scheduling, addressing patient‑relations concerns, monitoring Connect Care developments, completing probationary and periodic reviews, and managing physician performance issues. The role also leads and participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance care and operational effectiveness.
In addition to administrative responsibilities, the CCDHL provides strategic clinical leadership by fostering a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence, engaging the emergency department team in building a high‑performance environment, and strengthening collaboration with other clinical services within the hospital and across the corridor. The position also promotes the use of data‑informed decision‑making to support efficient, timely, and fiscally responsible emergency care delivery.
The position has an expected start date of approximately August 1, 2026, and an expected term of 3 years.

They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
