Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Department Hospital Lead (CCDHL), Surgery - Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Surgery and the Hospital Medical Director, RAH. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
This is a senior medical leadership role that supports the CCDL, Surgery by providing expert guidance on departmental matters and helping advance strategic and operational priorities. The role collaborates closely with medical and operational leaders to support effective service delivery across the Department of Surgery.
Working across surgical suites, inpatient services, and MDRD, the Hospital Lead partners with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals to promote high-quality patient care and responsible resource utilization. The role also supports clinical excellence, education, quality improvement, and performance management initiatives.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong abilities in communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation, along with a passion for quality and patient safety while working as part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant medical leadership experience and will be regarded by their peers as a strong clinician.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
