Responsibilities/Duties:
Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Anesthesiology.
This 0.50 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Associate Corridor Department Lead (ACML), Surgical Waitlists and Clinical Departments: Surgery, Anesthesiology, and Women's Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
This position provides input into developing policies and criteria for procedures related to Anesthesiology and reviewing and recommending privileges for Anesthesiology physicians working within the corridor. The CCDL, Anesthesiology is the physician responsible for all physicians within the Department of Anesthesiology and will be responsible for maintaining the highest standard of practice in the department. The successful candidate will represent Anesthesiology on the Zone Medical Administrative Committee. They will collaborate closely with the Operational Lead (Executive Director) in developing operational priorities for Anesthesiology.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
