As the Digital Health Provincial Medical Informatics Lead (PMIL), you will be at the forefront of driving digital transformation in healthcare. This pivotal role combines clinical expertise with digital health leadership to shape the future of clinical information systems, knowledge development, and training within Health Shared Services (HSS).
Accountabilities / Deliverables:
In this capacity, the PMIL is entrusted with the following responsibilities:
1. Clinical Knowledge Leadership:
• Lead discipline-specific clinical knowledge development, evaluation, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with relevant Clinical System Improvement (CSI) committee and specialty committees to identify and prioritize new content, build, and design.
• Align clinical knowledge development with organizational initiatives, such as Connect Care and Digital Health Programs.
• Employ an Evidence-Based Methodology (EBM) approach to support working groups in developing discipline-relevant clinical knowledge.
2. Collaboration and Coordination:
• Coordinate multidisciplinary topic and order set choices to support the integration into broader "clinical pathways."
• Liaise with other knowledge leads to ensure the development of common and pan-departmental topics/order sets.
• Collaborate with Senior Advisor Clinical Informatics (SACI) and clinical informatics physicians to translate clinical knowledge into clinical content for configuration within Connect Care.
3. Change Management:
• Act as a change sponsor and champion, supporting the CSIs and Digital Health Program.
• Build coalitions with physicians, senior leadership, managers, and clinicians across the province.
• Analyze and publish outcomes from the provincial application of Evidence-Based Practices in HSS.
• Development and distribution of clinical program level communications in cooperation CMIO Prescriber Experience team.
4. Digital Health Training:
• Develop, update, and support Digital Health training curriculum and materials alongside Senior Advisor Medical Informatics (SAMI).
• Support, through knowledge sharing and feedback, the development of trainers.
• Collaborate Clinical Informatics counterparts.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The PMIL is accountable for:
• Developing proficiency with clinical information systems to enhance communication with technical teams.
• Promoting health systems quality improvement and clinical improvement.
• Encouraging health information literacy and meaningful use of clinical information systems.
• Facilitating the development and field testing of clinical informatics policies, procedures, prototypical workflows, clinical system content changes and other artifacts.
• Assisting in troubleshooting and optimization of clinical information system interfaces and issues.
• Representing the CMIO office at relevant HSS Provincial committees.
• Regular monitoring and use of AHS/HSS email account.
Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Description:
A 1.0 FTE represents 2023 hours per year, aligning with HSS standards.
