Covenant Health, in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, Department of Emergency Medicine, invites applications for Emergency Medicine Specialists at the Misericordia Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. This is an outstanding practice opportunity to work on a committed and creative team serving local and outlying communities in Alberta’s Edmonton Zone. This position holds up to 5.0 FTE in permanent and/or locum positions available with a start date of July 1, 2027.
Shifts will be 8 hours, covering days/evenings/nights/weekends. A full-time schedule generally represents 10-12 clinical shifts per month.

The candidate will have exceptional communication skills and a passion for quality and patient safety. They will be considered a strong clinician by their peers.
Required:
· MD or equivalent.
· Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
· Certification in Emergency Medicine with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the College of Family Physicians Canada (FRCPC or CCFP-EM)
· ACLS, PALS, ATLS and NRP Competency. All physicians hired to the Department of Emergency Medicine are required to have current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certification, or certification must be completed within 6 months of hire.
· Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.
· Demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) in the healthcare environment.
Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
