Alberta Health Services, Edmonton Zone, is inviting applications from interested Physicians for the position of Facility Medical Director, North East Community Health Center (NECHC).
This 0.15 FTE position reports directly to the Edmonton Zone Associate Medical Director, Suburban Hospitals. The Facility Medical Director North East Community Health Center (NECHC) works collaboratively with the NECHC site operational lead as dyad partner, and also with clinical and operational leaders to provide clinical oversight for the NECHC site. Utilizing the AHS dyad model, the Facility Medical Director and the Site Director of NECHC will maintain a close working relationship and will be jointly accountable to provide integrated leadership for the NECHC site.
This position is accountable for, but not limited to
- providing senior medical leadership support for the Department Facility Chiefs at their site
- resolving physician-related and clinical-operational matters
- providing clinical leadership, consultation, support, and coaching to the site medical staff
- monitoring clinical practice and medical staff in accordance with the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules
- advocating for the provision of overall quality, patient safety, and patient care at NECHC
The position has an expected start date of approximately November 1, 2024 and an initial term of 1 year with a possibility of extension.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution, negotiation and a passion for quality and patient safety. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and considered to be a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) certified, be eligible to work in Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
