Alberta Health Services (AHS), Calgary Corridor, Department of Rural Medicine is inviting applications from physicians to provide after-hours coverage at the High River General Hospital Emergency Department.
This is a part-time one-year locum position starting January 1, 2027 - December 31, 2027.
Approximately 0.2 - 0.4 FTE equaling 32-64 shifts per year with potential for additional shifts.
During the week, after-hours shifts are scheduled in two shifts covering 1500-0800. Weekend shifts are split into three covering 0800-0800.
Equal distribution of weekday and weekend shifts. Physicians work in single coverage at all times.
Preference will be given to applicants with ties to the local community.

Current ACLS certification required.
Current ATLS and PALS certification recommended.
Experience in rural ER environment an asset.
Must obtain and maintain an Appointment with the Department of Rural Medicine, Calgary Zone with appropriate clinical privileges.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.
