Alberta Health Services - Northwest Corridor is actively recruiting a Family Medicine physician to establish a full-time practice in the community of FAIRVIEW. This position will provide services: Community Clinic, Emergency Room Coverage, Inpatient & Outpatient Services and Long Term Care.
Duties include but not limited to:
• Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Peace River.
• Establish and maintain full time community-based practice within the community.
• Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
• Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including but limited to, fair & equitable participation in the ER call schedule
• Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine.
• Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
• Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.
The successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. This is the
candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

A prominent feature of the Town of Fairview is the Fairview Community Centre located on the Northwestern Polytechnic campus contains an aquatic center, fitness center, squash courts, and community theatre. Other attractions include: an arena, the Fine Arts Centre and the Fairview Pioneer Museum.

- Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) - required
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - required
- Emergency Room Experience - required
- Certificate of the College of Family Physicians (CCFP) - desired
- Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - desired
Candidate must have Emergency Room & Acute Care Hospital Experience in Rural setting within the past 1-2 years. Experience in offering these services as the sole provider required.
Preference will be given to applicants who do not require, or have completed, the CPSA Practice Readiness Assessment (PRA-AB).
