Alberta Health Services - North Zone, is actively recruiting a Family Medicine Physician to establish a full-time practice in the community of Jasper. This position will provide services in Community Clinic, Emergency Room Coverage, Inpatient & Outpatient Services, and Long-Term Care.
Once chosen, the successful candidate may choose to operate their business by joining an existing practice or opening their own practice. This is the candidate's independent business decision and will not be managed through the recruitment process.

Duties include but not limited to:
Reside in and have as his/her primary residence within the community of Jasper.
Establish and maintain full time community-based practice within the community.
Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services.
Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including equal participation in the Emergency Department call schedule, as required.
Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules and AHS policies.
Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine.
Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
Contribute to and participate in other administrative duties, as assigned.
Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care.

The Jasper town site, which is approximately 225 miles (362 km) west of Edmonton, 180 miles (290 km) north of Banff, and 17 miles (28 kilometers) east of the Yellowhead Pass, is at the intersection of Highway 16 (Yellowhead Highway) and Highway 93 (Icefields Parkway).
The municipality of Jasper is a small, friendly and sustainable community nestled in a rugged, unspoiled wilderness of unparalleled beauty. Itβs one of the largest and most northerly of Canada's Rocky Mountain national parks and a part of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Park World Heritage Site. Jasper offers first-class visitor attractions, activities, facilities, and services; featuring towering snow-capped mountain peaks while providing the backdrop for evergreen forests, pristine glacier-fed lakes, and waterfalls.
A mountain town with great food and drink; an outdoor sports lover's playground, with hiking and golfing in summer and skiing and dog sledding in winter. If it's chilly, heat up at Miette Hot Springs in the National Park.

Under the Grande Yellowhead Public School Division; the Ecole Jasper Elementary School offers JK to Grade 6 classes, offering world-class English and French Immersion programs. The Jasper Junior/Senior High School teaches youth to be well-rounded lifelong learners, exposing the youth to the rigors of a challenging academic program and active citizenship in our moral education program.
There is an impressive array of health services, located within the community and local hospital (Seton Jasper Healthcare Centre), all staffed and delivered by an exceptional group of dedicated health professionals. These staff members are responsible for delivering acute care, long-term care and community care. The hospital provides general services, occupational therapy, emergency care, and much more. In addition to the hospital, seniors can access a wide range of services and support programs.
