Roles and responsibilities:
Alberta Health Services, Edmonton Corridor, is actively recruiting full-time Family Medicine with Enhanced Surgical Skills or Obstetrical Surgical Skills to join the Women’s Health group at the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital (FSCH). There are two full-time positions available.
This position is aimed to provide low risk obstetrical care in the community of Fort Saskatchewan and requires a scope of practice that includes Community Clinic, shared On-Call responsibilities for Intrapartum Obstetrics as well as Gynecology, and Newborn Care.
The Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital is a community hospital in the town of Fort Saskatchewan, located 15 minutes northeast of Edmonton. It is a thriving community with all of the services and amenities that you would expect from a larger centre. There is a 24/7 Emergency Department, inpatient Hospitalist Service, busy Surgical Program that includes General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Endoscopy, and a growing Women’s Health Program.

Qualifications
Successful Candidates will have a functional knowledge of resources and challenges in Alberta’s primary health care system. This knowledge will be supported by the candidate having completed a two year Family Medicine Residency with additional training in enhanced General and/or Obstetrical Surgical Skills and by ongoing community Family Medicine services.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have superior interpersonal skills with demonstrated commitment to teamwork and peer relationships. The successful candidate should be committed to fulfilling clinical and non-clinical duties as a representative of Family Medicine.
The successful candidate will have certification in College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP) with Certificate of Added Competence (CAC) in Enhanced Surgical Skills (ESS) or Obstetrical Surgical Skills (OSS) and have licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
This position is NOT eligible for AHS sponsorship of a College of Physicians and Surgeons Practice Readiness Assessment.
