This is a fee-for-service opportunity with academic affiliation to the University of Alberta. There is operating room time (Royal Alexandra Hospital and chartered surgical facilities). You would be working with five other predominantly community-based glaucoma specialists in Edmonton.
Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is required along with a >= 12 month recognized glaucoma fellowship. A College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta license is required.
There are resident teaching responsibilities (15 residents) and hospital clinics once per month. Comprehensive ophthalmology call is shared with 30+ ophthalmologists (separate from the retina service). In-person staffing of the emergency room follow-up clinics is required when on call. Participation in one university or hospital committee is encouraged.
