Locum - Generalist Obstetrician Gynecologist

The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary is actively recruiting for a temporary Locum Generalist in the Department, based out of the South Health Campus. Coverage starting July 1, 2025, through to August 31, 2025. Expectations of this position include acute care coverage of Obstetrics with a 1.00FTE allocation of Obstetrical call. The individual will be expected to practice as a generalist OBGYN which provides both ante/perinatal and gynecologic consultation and on-going care. The gynecological care will focus on medical gynecology, and as such will not be allocated main operating room time but will be given right to pick up main operating rooms days if they come available through "pick up". If additional operating room time becomes available, this individual will have access. This individual will also have opportunity to access the SHC Procedure Room (referring patients and providing surgical coverage of this time). Clinic coverage will be for existing group providers both on- and off-site from the facility. The individual may also be expected to participate in and provide clinical education of medical students, residents, and midwifery students in the Calgary Zone who rotate through our facility as learners. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and preference will be given to a candidate with Royal College Subspecialty Certification. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cumming School of Medicine University of Calgary.
