Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Medical Education Site Leader, Acute Care Coverage – Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.10 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Hospital Medical Director (HMD), Royal Alexandra Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Medical Education Site Leader, Acute Care Coverage - RAH oversees the full education lifecycle for Clinical Assistants (CAs) at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. This includes coordinating site orientation, delivering a structured year‑long continuing education curriculum, supporting professional development, guiding remediation when needed, and contributing to annual evaluations required for CPSA licensure. The role works closely with department leads and the CA Manager to ensure CAs meet learning objectives and are prepared for safe, effective clinical practice across all acute care areas.
By ensuring consistent onboarding, training, and skill development, the Site Leader helps build a versatile CA workforce capable of cross‑coverage during service pressures. Reporting to the Hospital Medical Director and participating in the RAH Medical Advisory Committee, the role supports high‑quality, reliable acute care across the site.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
