Alberta Health Services, Calgary Corridor is currently recruiting for a fee-for-service general neurologist with subspecialty training in headache management.
This individual would be RCPSC certified or equivalent and would provide ambulatory care in the Headache Clinic at South Health Campus and General Neurology Clinics at Rockyview General Hospital. In addition, they will provide inpatient and consultation services and call at any of our 4 adult hospitals in Calgary. This would include approximately 5-7 weeks per year of service, each with an attached weekend, and approximately 2 additional nights per month of call for 2 hospitals. This individual will also be expected to participate in divisional activities including teaching medical students and residents, attending departmental grand rounds and Division of Neurology meetings and activities. As we provide multidisciplinary, team-based care, exceptional collaboration and communication skills are expected. As the hospital and clinics are teaching services, teaching in clinics and hospital service is required. Participation in clinical research is encouraged.
Qualifications include an MD, a specialist certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. We require a neurologist who has demonstrated a record of success in an academic environment, proven clinical excellence, a record of working well within a team, demonstrated organizational, leadership, collaboration and teaching skills are required.
The ability to participate fully in the Calgary City-Wide call schedule is required. Must read, write and speak English. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
