The Department of Clinical Neurosciences (http://www.ucalgary.ca/dcns/) in Alberta Health Services - Calgary Corridor and the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, invites applications for a Fee for Service (FFS) Movement Disorders Neurologist. The Department of Clinical Neurosciences and Division of Neurology are committed to fostering diversity through cultivating an environment where people with a variety of backgrounds, genders, interests and talents feel welcome and included. We are seeking a Neurologist who will participate in and grow our clinical services and clinical research related to movement disorders. Participation in Division and Department academic activities, and in the General Neurology inpatient service rotation is expected.

 

Qualifications include an MD, a specialist certificate in Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, completion of a movement disorders neurology fellowship, and eligibility for licensure in the Province of Alberta. We require a neurologist who has demonstrated that their primary clinical interest is in the field of movement disorders neurology and who has an interest and an academic record of success in an academic environment. Proven clinical excellence, a record of working well within a team, demonstrated organizational, leadership, collaboration and teaching skills are required.   We anticipate that there will be opportunities in administrative and educational leadership associated with this position.

 

The successful candidate will become a member of the Division of Neurology and must be eligible for an academic appointment with the University of Calgary, Cumming School of Medicine, and the Department of Clinical Neurosciences.  This position is fee-for-service.

 

The ability to participate fully in the Calgary City-Wide call schedule is required. The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Must read, write and speak English. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and Permanent Residents will be given priority.
