Description:
1.0 full-time equivalent fee-for-service physician position in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine to care for patients with pediatric-onset disorders resulting in significant impairments, activity limitations, and complex disability in southern Alberta and the surrounding region. The physician would provide specialized Physiatry services across the following areas:
A. Specialized outpatient clinics
The physician would participate in and provide medical leadership/support for the following specialized outpatient clinics: - Alberta Children’s Hospital - General Rehabilitation Clinic (half-day clinic weekly), Neuromotor Clinic (half-day clinic weekly), Neuromuscular Clinic (full-day clinic monthly), Myelomeningocele Clinic (full-day clinic monthly), Arthrogryposis Clinic (half-day clinic monthly), and Amputee Clinic (half-day clinic monthly). - Foothills Medical Centre/Sheldon Chumir Medical Centre – Adult Neurorehabilitation Clinic for Pediatric Onset Disorders (full-day clinic weekly).
B. Inpatient Pediatric PM&R consultation service
The physician would provide inpatient Pediatric PM&R consultation at Alberta Children’s Hospital on a rotation basis, shared with the two existing major clinical Pediatric Physiatrists.
C. Dr. Gordon Townsend School Intensive Rehabilitation and Education program
The physician would provide medical support to children attending the Dr. Gordon Townsend School Intensive Rehabilitation and Education Program located at Alberta Children’s Hospital on a rotation basis, shared with the two existing major clinical Pediatric Physiatrists.
D. Foothills Medical Centre U58/Tertiary Neurorehabilitation
The physician would participate in the shared on-call medical responsibilities of the Foothills Medical Centre U58/Tertiary Neurorehabilitation Unit on a rotational basis, shared with the existing Physiatrists and Hospitalists supporting on-call services.

Qualifications:
Specialty certification in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.
