The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS) invites applicants to apply for a position within the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology in the Department of Pediatrics. This position is a tenure track position and will be a full-time, 1.0 FTE with 60% clinical services and 40% academic duties negotiable.

Position Description:

The successful applicant will be offered a full-time position (1.0 FTE) with the University of Alberta and AHS and will provide inpatient and outpatient consultation as well as long term care for children with rheumatic diseases.

This position will comprise approximately 60% clinical service (including clinical teaching) and 40% academic pursuits: for example, teaching, research, and administrative duties for the Division of Pediatric Rheumatology. Contributions to education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels are expected from all faculty members. The successful candidate will participate in clinical care, teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Interested applicants must have:
* MD degree (or equivalent)
* Completed residency training in Pediatrics
* Completed subspecialty training in Pediatric Rheumatology
* Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent
* Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
* Hold appropriate liability insurance

Considered an asset:
* Additional clinical training beyond the pediatric rheumatology subspecialty residency (e.g. subspecialty fellowship)
* Additional graduate level training (e.g. Masters, PhD)

The successful candidate will join the division of pediatric rheumatology at the University of Alberta. The Division contributes to teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including medical students, pediatric residents, and adult rheumatology residents, among other trainees. The Division is home to active educational scholarship and research programs providing opportunities and mentorship for academic pursuits. members are collaborators in multi-centre research through the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) network, among other groups.

About WCHRI
The Women and Children's Health Research Institute (WCHRI) supports researchers within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and Alberta Health SErvices. With a focus on advancing women's, children's, and perinatal health, WCHRI provides extensive resources for faculty conducting research in these areas.
As a member of WCHRI, the successful candidate will have access to funding opportunities, biostatistical expertise, qualitative design support, knowledge translation resources, and clinical trials services. WCHRI also invests in research development by supporting trainees through scholarships, fellowships, and travel grants for presenting research outcomes.
