Description:
Two permanent roles with a FTE range of 0.3-1.0 are available immediately.
You will provide medical services to the patients at the East Calgary Family Care Clinic located in Forest Lawn at the East Calgary Health Centre. This includes all duties related to excellence in providing a highly functional Patient-centered Medical Home such as comprehensive primary care, same-day or next-day access for patients, quality improvement activities, teaching of learners, participation in clinic meetings, interdisciplinary care (mental health, social work, physiotherapy, pharmacy, occupational therapy, dietitians, nursing, nurse practitioners), and system integration work with other partners in the Calgary area, specifically in regard to high needs clients.
This is a permanent position at the East Calgary Family Care Clinic. This physician will take on a panel of complex patients within the clinic. If less than 0.5 FTE is desired, the physician will be expected to share a practice with another physician to allow for adequate access and continuity for patients. The clinic operates as a group practice and we generally cover each other’s test results. We use the Connect Care EMR, which includes access to mobility apps, dictation software (Dragon Medical One) and an AI Scribe (Jenkins).
This clinic serves a complex, high needs patient population in an area of the city that has been identified as having access and continuity demands greater than other areas in our jurisdiction. The clinic is open 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays, 9 am to 5 pm on weekends and statutory holidays. Weekend, statutory holiday and evening coverage are shared between providers. For this position, you will be expected to participate in a rotating coverage schedule for weekends and holidays.
