Alberta Health Services (AHS), Calgary Zone, Department of Rural Medicine is inviting applications from physicians to provide Emergency Department coverage at the High River General Hospital.
This position will provide evening and night shift coverage starting in January 2026 with approximately 4 shifts per month. There is an opportunity to add day shift coverage.
Required Qualifications:
- Candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta
- CCFP Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Must read, write, and speak English fluently
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current ATLS Certification
- Current PALS Certification
Preference will be given to applicants with one or both of the following:
- Have experience working at the High River General Hospital Emergency Department for at least 2 years in locum or term roles.
- Have ties to the local community with a community family practice in High River or other Calgary rural communities including Nanton and Okotoks, and at least one year of locum or temporary work at the High River General Hospital Emergency Department.
