Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Department Facility Chief (ZCDFC), Anesthesiology - Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.40 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Anesthesiology and the Hospital Medical Director (HMD), RAH. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The ZCDFC, Anesthesiology – RAH will:
- Provide the leadership and planning for the provision of Anesthesiology services at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (both in the operating room and outside), including working with operations and surgery to plan and support surgical services provision.
- Provide a conduit for the interests and concerns of the independently contracted Anesthesiology physician services to operations locally on site and within the zone.
- Work with the corridor and site leadership to find solutions to concerns in process, quality and service delivery.
- Be involved in critical initiatives such as developing staffing, new surgical delivery models and the Anesthesia Care Team initiative at the site.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
