Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Zone invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Section Chief (ZCSC), Integrated Home Living.

 

This 0.20 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Deputy Zone Clinical Department Head (DZCDH), Continuing Care and Seniors Health.  The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that clinical standards of care are being met and Alberta Health Services policy and procedure are followed.

 

Alberta Health and Alberta Health Service are both envisioning an evolution in Home Care services.  This will see more seniors living at home longer, and with increasingly complex chronic illness and frailty.  Admission to Long-Term Care and Designated Supportive Living will be delayed or avoided.  The Medical Lead, Home Living will provide the necessary expertise and input in this evolution and will foster increasing the linkage to Primary Care.

 

The recent implementation of Care of the Elderly Physicians supporting the Home Care networks in the care of very frail seniors has been a great success, and there is an immediate need to expand this physician service.  This position has a critical role in the development and oversight of the service and of the physicians in it.  

 

The Zone Clinical Section Chief (ZCSC), Integrated Home Living will work closely with the Medical Lead for Education in Continuing Care.

 

The position has an expected start date of approximately April 1st, 2024 and an expected term of 3 years.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety.   They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.

 

Candidates must be Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC) certified, be eligible to work in Canada, and hold or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff.  Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
