The Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, Edmonton Zone, invites applications for an Academic Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Reconstructive Surgeon. The primary site of practice for this position will be at the University of Alberta Hospital.
The Section of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery provides service to the City of Edmonton and surrounding communities, with specialized care in all aspects of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery including major head and neck surgical oncology and reconstruction. The Division of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery has a busy and comprehensive residency and specialty training program.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to practice the full spectrum of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in a busy tertiary care institution, working cooperatively with a multi-disciplinary team. It is anticipated that the applicant will have demonstrated training and expertise in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Reconstruction. The successful applicant will have a job description which will include a commitment to clinical care delivery, education, research and administration. The successful candidate will be a faculty member engaged with the head and neck microvascular and reconstructive fellowship program at the University of Alberta.
The successful candidate must hold Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada registration in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (or recognized equivalent). Applicants must have completed an accredited Fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Reconstruction and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta. While not a requirement, preference will be given to candidates with >3 years of head and neck surgery experience.
The successful applicant will hold a special continuing appointment in the Department of Surgery, University of Alberta.
