Job Description:
Key Responsibilities (Alberta)
Functions as a mid-level provider (similar to a junior doctor/resident)
Must practice under direct supervision of a licensed physician
Registered with the limited practice registry (not independently licensed)
Assess patients, including taking histories and performing physical exams
Monitor patient progress and participate in clinic duties
Order and interpret diagnostic tests under supervision
Develop and adjust care plans in collaboration with the supervising physician
Perform selected clinical procedures (as permitted)
Document patient care and maintain accurate medical records
Collaborate with the clinic healthcare team and communicate with patients and families
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Postgraduate clinical training with recent hands-on patient care
- Pass the Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Exam Part I (MCCQE1)
- Proof of English language proficiency (if applicable)
- Eligible for limited practice registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA)
- Successful completion of the Alberta Health Services pre-screening process
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
