Medical Director
Join us in building better primary care together! Covenant Family Health is launching a bold new chapter in community-based healthcare, and we are seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Medical Director who leads with purpose and heart. In this role, you will provide leadership and work in close partnership with clinic operations to shape a high-quality, patient-centered model of care.
As Covenant’s newly established primary care organization, Covenant Family Health reflects a strong commitment to delivering holistic, team-based care that supports the health of mind, body, and soul. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a model intentionally built around collaboration, compassion, and high-quality patient care. Our first clinic will open in early 2026 at the Covenant Community Health Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. This new space will foster a welcoming, community focused environment where providers can practice meaningful, comprehensive primary care while truly making a difference.
Clinical Leadership
Provide oversight and guidance on clinical standards and best practices.
Support quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Contribute to the development of clinic policies and care pathways.
Promote evidence-informed and team-based care delivery.
Team Support & Mentorship
Support recruitment and onboarding of physicians and allied health professionals.
Provide mentorship and informal leadership to clinic physicians.
Foster a collaborative and respectful team environment.
Clinical Practice
Maintain an active patient panel.
Deliver comprehensive, longitudinal primary care.
Participate in shared coverage arrangements as applicable.
Strategic Contribution
Support clinic growth and service development initiatives.
Collaborate with community partners and healthcare stakeholders.
Contribute to ongoing evaluation of clinic performance and patient access.
Additional Position Information
This is a flexible position, with 0.2 FTE dedicated to the Medical Director role and up to 0.8 FTE for clinical duties.

Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine or equivalent.
Licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Certification with the College of Family Physicians.
Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.
Demonstrated commitment to DEI in the healthcare environment
Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
Demonstrated leadership abilities (formal or informal).
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Commitment to patient-centered, team-based care.
