THE OPPORTUNITY
We're seeking a Family Physician to join our growing practice. This position offers the best of both worlds: the autonomy and earning potential of independent practice with full administrative and facility support.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive primary care services across the lifespan, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
Manage acute and chronic medical conditions (eg., diabetes, hypertension, respiratory conditions, infections)
Deliver preventative care and screening in accordance with Alberta guidelines (eg., cancer screening, cardiovascular risk, sexual health)
Administer and support immunizations and vaccines
Prescribe and manage medications safely, including monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
Provide care for patients with complex and co-occurring needs, including:
Mental health conditions
Substance use and addiction
Chronic pain
Housing instability and social complexity
Apply a trauma-informed, harm reduction approach to care
Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team (nurse practitioner, nursing, social work, outreach, etc.) to support holistic care planning
Participate in case conferencing and coordinated care planning, particularly for high-acuity or high-needs patients
Provide episodic and longitudinal care, including intake assessments and ongoing panel management
Complete timely and accurate medical documentation and charting (EMR-based)
Support appropriate referrals and system navigation (specialists, diagnostics, community supports)
Qualifications:
- Have a current eligibility letter from CPSA
- Medical Degree (MD) from a recognized institution
- Proof of English language proficiency
