Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Section Hospital Lead (CCSHL), Trauma - Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.10 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead, Surgery, the Hospital Medical Director, Royal Alexandra Hospital, and the Corridor Clinical Section Lead, Trauma. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The CCSHL, Trauma - RAH supports the Corridor Clinical Department Lead, Surgery, and provides strategic guidance on trauma services, quality improvement, and clinical program development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and expert advice for trauma services at RAH
- Collaborate with CCDL, CCSHL colleagues, Medical Directors, and operational leaders
- Engage with physicians, nurses, and allied health teams to ensure high‑quality patient care
- Support quality improvement, performance management, and educational activities
This role is essential to advancing trauma care excellence, supporting departmental priorities, and strengthening clinical and educational outcomes at RAH.
The position has an expected start date of approximately November 1, 2026 and an expected term of 3 years.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated abilities in communication, conflict resolution and a passion for quality and patient safety working as a part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant experience in medical leadership and is considered a strong clinician by peers.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
