The Department of Surgery, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services, Edmonton Zone, invites applications for a General Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgeon with interest in Otology. The primary site of practice for this position will be at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
The Section of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery provides service to the City of Edmonton and surrounding communities, with specialized care in all aspects of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. The Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery has a busy and comprehensive residency and specialty training program.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to practice the full spectrum of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery in a busy tertiary care institution, working cooperatively with a multi-disciplinary team. It is anticipated that the applicant will have demonstrated training and expertise in General Otolaryngology with a demonstrated interest in Otology and middle ear surgery. The successful applicant will have a job description which will include a commitment to clinical care delivery, education, research and administration.
The successful candidate must hold Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons registration in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (or recognized equivalent). Applicants must be eligible for licensure in the Province of Alberta. While a formal Fellowship is not required, preference will be given to applicants with demonstrated interest and capacity in middle ear surgery.
The successful applicant will hold a special continuing appointment in the Department of Surgery, University of Alberta.
