Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, and the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary is actively recruiting a 0.67 FTE Locum, OB Generalist OBGYN position based at the Foothills Medical Centre. The position will be available from September 01, 2026 to June 30, 2027. The selected candidate will be expected to be assigned between 1-2 ORs monthly. All candidates must have an interest in practicing obstetrics and providing prenatal care (inpatient and outpatient). The obstetrical practice is shared with two other 0.67 FTE OBGYNs and therefore the average prenatal care clinic load is 3 per month at Avivo Health Alliance. The successful candidate must also have an interest in general gynecology with a focus in surgical gynecology and will be expected to complete two clinic days per month of gynecology practice also at Avivo Health Alliance. The role also comprises 3-4 12-hour obstetrical call shifts per month as well as 1-2 24-hour gynecology call shifts per month. This is a clinical role and there is no expectation to contribute to administrative or research requirements. The Foothills Hospital is a teaching site and therefore the candidate will be expected to contribute to teaching of learners while providing clinical duties. There will be opportunity to be able to pick up additional scramble OR and call shifts. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Qualifications:
FRCSC Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Incumbent must be an active member of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a member in good standing.
The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Must read, write and speak English.
