Recovery Alberta, in partnership with the University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is inviting applications from Adult Psychiatrists to take on the role of Psychiatrist – Eating Disorders Program (0.4 FTE) at the University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) in the Department of Addictions and Mental Health.
The Edmonton Zone AMH Eating Disorders program is part of the Young Adult Services portfolio. This specialized program provides a continuum of care options for those with various eating disorder behaviors and illnesses. Clinical responsibilities include outpatient assessment, consultation, and ongoing care for children and adolescents under the age of 18 with eating disorders. The role involves interdisciplinary collaboration with dietitians, nursing, psychiatry, and community providers, as well as family-based and developmentally informed care. The successful candidate will have a Fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or equivalent experience.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate medical students and/or resident physicians and will be encouraged to apply for a Clinical Academic Colleague appointment, which will be considered through a process with the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry (FoMD).
The candidate will be expected to be involved in AHS and the University of Alberta program development initiatives and will be required to fully utilize AHS IT systems and processes, including Connect Care.
Remuneration will be on fee-for-service billings submitted to Alberta Health
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have an MD and must be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Psychiatry, for licensure in the province of Alberta.
The population treated will be under 18 years of age, and requires a Child Psychiatry Fellowship or Eating Disorders Fellowship.
