The South Zone Physician Lead for Echocardiography – Echocardiography Laboratory Director (Echo Lab Director is a leadership role that reports to the South Zone Cardiac Sciences Physician Lead and Medical Affairs Leadership. The incumbent will work collaboratively with stakeholders on the continued development and realization of expanded Echocardiology for the South Zone.

As the Echo Lab Director you will support the priorities of the Cardiac Services Plan which will help improve the quality and the echocardiography services provided in the South Zone. This role is instrumental in the development of a full cardiac continuum of services though work with existing provincial systems, collaboration with other zones and development of new resources and programs within the South Zone.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and manage the echo readers’ schedule.

· Coordinate with operations for services including TEEs, stress echocardiograms, TTEs, and contrast studies.

· Create and manage a call schedule for after-hours coverage.

· Work closely with South Zone Cardiac Sciences leadership to align lab operations with broader organizational goals.

· Collaborate with operational and medical leadership in the South Zone to ensure effective service delivery and resource allocation.

· Collaborate with sonographers to develop and implement an education plan.

· Develop and implement a quality initiative and program to ensure high standards in echocardiographic procedures.

· Undertake additional responsibilities as needed to support lab operations and patient care.

Qualifications:

• Training and competence in advanced echocardiography.

• Strong leadership and organizational skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals across multiple departments.
