Responsibilities/Duties:
Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Zone Clinical Section Chief (ZCSC), Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology.
This 0.10 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Anesthesiology. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The ZCSC Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology will collaborate with AHS colleagues in pediatric cardiology, pediatric cardiac intensive care, and pediatric cardiac surgery to develop a coherent plan for the delivery of medical care. They will also work closely with operational leads in cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and cardiac intensive care to establish appropriate policies, equipment, and procedures that support care for this high‑risk population, while advancing both the quality and efficiency of services.
In addition, the successful candidate will partner with the Corridor/Zone Lead for Pediatric Anesthesia to support children with cardiac disease requiring anesthesia across the corridor. This includes case triage, allocation of personnel, and the development of educational materials for pediatric anesthesiologists who provide occasional care for children with cardiac conditions.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
