The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, is seeking a Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at the clinical assistant/associate professor level to join a section of eight colleagues. The position is currently supported as 1.0 FTE with 30-50% clinical activity, 20-30% infection control, 0-40% research and 0-20% education. The successful candidate will provide clinical expertise across the full spectrum of pediatric infectious diseases in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additional training and/or demonstrated clinical focus in Infection Prevention and Control is a decided asset and there is a strong preference for an academic physician with a research portfolio. Other niche interests such as infections in the immunocompromised host, infections in the premature infant, vaccine-preventable diseases or viral infections are also valued. The section of Pediatric Infectious Diseases works closely with colleagues in the section of Pediatric Oncology/Bone Marrow Transplantation, Pediatric Immunology and Pediatric intensive Care. We are a regional hematopoietic stem cell transplant center.  

​The Department of Pediatrics has over 400 clinical and academic faculty members who are part of the rapidly growing Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary. Qualifications:

  • Qualifications include certification in Pediatrics and Infectious Diseases by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, or equivalent. 
  • The candidate must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. 
  • Must read, write, and speak English.
