Generalist Obstetrician Gynecologist

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Alberta Health Services (AHS) Calgary Zone, the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary is recruiting a 1.0 FTE generalist Obstetrician and Gynecologist at the Foothills Medical Center.  The FMC group provides general Obstetrics and Gynecology in an environment that has strong support from subspecialists such as Maternal Fetal Medicine, Urogynecology, and Gynecological Oncology.  The FMC is a busy level 3 center that performs ~4000-5000 deliveries per year and values strong collaborative relationships with neonatologists and low risk obstetrical care providers.  This is a fee for service position with general obstetrics and gynecology call as well as assigned OR time commensurate to the FTE, with right to pick up additional days if they become available.  It is an expectation that the recruit has experience working in a tertiary center and performs consultative obstetric and gynecologic care in an outpatient setting. There is an expectation to provide ambulatory clinics on-site at Foothills Medical Centre.  Participation in the academic goals and objectives of the department are expected. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. An interest in research would be an asset but not a requirement. Candidates must have their FRCSC in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and preference will be given to a candidate with Royal College Subspecialty Certification. All candidates will be required to have clinical academic appointments with the Cumming School of Medicine University of Calgary.
