Alberta Health Services (AHS), Edmonton Corridor invites applications for the role of Corridor Clinical Department Hospital Lead (CCDHL), Family Medicine - Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH).
This 0.25 FTE position governed by the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules, reports to the Corridor Clinical Department Lead (CCDL), Family Medicine, the Hospital Medical Director, RAH, and the Corridor Clinical Section Lead, Hospital Medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that standards of care are being met in the department and that support for research and teaching is available.
The Hospital Lead role is responsible for the daily operations of the hospitalist Family Medicine team, ensuring quality and continuous review of performance and other metrics and liaison with other teams across the corridor. This position also oversees post-acute care with our TU program at RAH in the Edmonton Corridor, provides input into developing policies related to Family Medicine, reviews and recommends privileges for family physicians at RAH, and evaluates the performance of medical staff working within the Department.
This role is essential to continue the liaison between other teams at the hospital level, particularly General Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, and the other hospitalist teams in the corridor.
The position has an expected term of 3 years.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong abilities in communication, conflict resolution, and negotiation, along with a passion for quality and patient safety while working as part of a leadership team. They will be an inclusive and visionary leader with significant medical leadership experience and will be regarded by their peers as a strong clinician.
Candidates must be registered or eligible for registration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or equivalent, eligible to work in Canada, and be eligible for or have current licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta and appointment to the AHS Medical Staff. Candidates should have evidence of formal administrative education and training.
